Merimbula Historical Society Audios

image003The Merimbula Historical Society has many oral history audio recordings. These have been recorded over the last ten years and explore the lives of many interesting local personalities. The recordings show what life was like here in years gone by and help to paint a picture of the way Merimbula grew to what it is today. The CD recordings cover the lives of a wide range of life styles and tell us how it was for people such as local fishermen, oyster farmers, nurses, sleeper cutters, sheep farmers and many more. Some of the recent CDs have been professionally recorded and are of excellent sound quality. They tell the story of how Fishpen got it’s name, the bacon factory and the early reliance on sea transport and many other aspects of life in the region.  For further information, email the society from this website.
